Relaxing Trip on the Rogue

We just finised a fun three day trip on the Rogue River. Jeremy and Rio ran falls at Rainey and aced it as a crowd watched in amazement. We then boated down to Horseshoe Bend.

On our second night (Shay’s Birthday), some 18 year old cowboys floated down to Solitude from Half Moon in their Kmart raft and joined our birthday celebration.

The picture was taken from Inspiration Point looking down at Stair Creek in Mule Creek Canyon.

High Water on the American River

It looks like the water peaked last weekend on the South Fork of the American. River rangers report that the high water caused a good amount of flips and cold swimmers. Since the weekend, the water has dropped a bit and will hopefully stay at moderate flows for a while.

If you choose to go American River Rafting during higher water during the spring and early summer months, be sure to wear a wetsuit and go with safe friends or a safe outfitter.
